Get Ireland Walking

Client:

Connect the Dots was asked by the Get Ireland Walking initiative to design an engagement process to enable a diverse group of 60+ key stakeholders to feed into a national strategy for All Purpose Walking in Ireland. Connect the Dots designed and led a series of internal meetings and workshops with the lead stakeholders, mapped out key diverse stakeholder groups, and then engaged diverse key interests

Methods:

After running tailored engagement sessions, we produced a report that centred around the bid for the Walk21 conference (for TU Dublin to push forward) and a report that summarizes the main points to include in a National Walking Strategy (for Get Ireland Walking to deal with).

Results:

  • Increased connections within the ecosystem around encouraging more walking in Ireland and the support and infrastructure needed to develop it.
  • Co-development of recommendations for a National Walking Strategy
  • Agreement for a high-level action plan going forward involving the key stakeholders – and wider community
